SPICE BORD MEMBERSHIP
To become a registered member of the Spices Board of India, an exporter must obtain a Certificate of Registration as an Exporter of Spices (CRES). This registration is mandatory for any manufacturer or merchant dealing with the export of 52 scheduled spices from India.
The entire application process is conducted online through the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) common digital platform.
Eligibility criteria
To be eligible for CRES registration, applicants must meet the following conditions:
The business must be based in India.
The business entity must be officially registered.
Applicants, directors, or partners must have no criminal record.
Applicants must have a valid Import-Export (IEC) code issued by the DGFT.
Required documents
The required documents vary slightly depending on whether you are a merchant exporter or a manufacturer exporter:
For all exporters
Valid Importer-Exporter Code (IEC) certificate
Goods and Services Tax (GST) registration certificate
PAN card of the business entity
Confidential bank certificate from the main bank confirming financial status
Partnership deed or memorandum and articles of association (as applicable)
Proof of business address (e.g., utility bill, lease deed)
Passport-size photo of the CEO or designated officer
Additional documents for manufacturer exporters
Certificate from the Directorate of Industries or MSME (Udyog Aadhar/Udyam) registration
Valid FSSAI license
Valid certificate from the Pollution Control Board
Proof of ownership or rental agreement for the processing unit
